Miconazole is an antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections of the skin. It works by killing the fungus that causes infections such as athlete’s foot, Dhobie Itch, thrush, ringworm and dry, flaky skin. It used to treat tinea corporis(ringworm, fungal skin infection that causes a red scaly rash on different parts of the body), tinea cruris (jock itch, fungal infection of the skin in the groin or buttocks), and tinea pedis (athlete’s foot, fungal infection of the skin on the feet and between the toes. Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant which works against a wide range of bacteria on the skin by stopping them growing and spreading. It kills infectious microorganisms and effectively cleans out cuts, wounds, and burns to prevent them from getting infected. It also works against some fungi and viruses, particularly the ones found in mouth and on skin.
