MEGACID SUSPENSION

Alginic acid is a natural carbohydrate that comes from algae in seaweed. It helps create a foam barrier to coat the stomach. In the treatment of GERD, the combination of alginic acid and antacids lead to reduced acid reflux and symptomatic improvement. Dried Aluminum Hydroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide, Magnesium trisilicate are antacids used together to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach. They may be used to treat these symptoms in patients with peptic ulcer, gastritis, esophagitis, hiatal hernia, or too much acid in the stomach (gastric hyperacidity). They combine with stomach acid and neutralize it. Activated Dimethicone is a known anti-flatulent agent used to reduce bloating, discomfort or pain caused by excessive gas.

Each 15ml contains:

  • Alginic Acid 200mg
  • Dried Aluminium hydroxide 250mg
  • Magnesium hydroxide 250mg
  • Magnesium trisilicate 250mg
  • Activated Dimethicone 125mg
