LULIZAP CREAM
Luliconazole is a novel topical potent antifungal imidazole with broad-spectrum fungistatic and strong fungicidal activity in dermatophytosis against Trichophyton species. The potent antifungal activity is due to strong in vitro antifungal activity as well as favorable pharmacokinetic profile in the skin. Luliconazole is under clinical development in the United States for management of dermatophytosis with a short-term treatment regimen. It inhibits ergosterol synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol demethylase. As a 1% topical cream, It is indicated for the treatment of athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum gypseum and Epidermophyton floccosum.
